He is talking more and more everyday. Sometimes we can even make out a sentence. We figure he is going to wake up some morning and break out in complete sentences. He is also learning his shapes, colors and numbers of which he has down pretty good most of the time. Pretty soon I suppose we will try potty training. We have the Elmo potty from Mimi and Papa all ready.
To say he is in love with Elmo is probably an understatement. Obsessed is probably more accurate. Needless to say his birthday party was Elmo themed complete with an Elmo cake that I made with the help of my newly learned hobby of cake making. Thank you Hobby Lobby.
Connor loves to run, jump and play. He enjoys his Thomas trains, watching Elmo on TV, reading books, playing outside and in the basement and going to the zoo. We bought a zoo pass this year and have taken advantage to the reciprocal zoo program. We have been to Akron, Columbus, Columbia South Carolina, and Indianapolis so far this summer. We will probably go to Cleveland this winter too. He loves the elephants and lions of which he as mastered the sounds well.
We spent his birthday weekend in Indianapolis with the family and Irwins (minus Barb and Tim and Aunt Judy). We had a wonderful time at the zoo and apple orchard where Connor picked out the biggest pumpkin he could carry to bring home. He also played with McKensi who is practicing up for her new sister who will be here any day now. We can't wait!
We brought Nana home with us so she has been "babysitting" Connor while we were at work this week. We have been trying to figure out our Christmas cards for this year. So far we have lots of ideas, but none have jumped out at us. It will be a surprise I guess. She is leaving tomorrow and then coming back in a couple of weeks in time to help us out while Jamie recoups from surgery.
Summer is over, and fall is in the air. Football season has begun and Connor has been practicing his "touchdown," "Interception," and "Fumble" calls. He is getting pretty good. Halloween will be here before we know it and then Christmas is just around the corner. We all know what that brings...turkey smoothies for Jamie and Christmas decorations :)
