On September 24, 2008 at 1:13 in the afternoon, Connor James entered the world weighing in at 6 pounds 13 ounces and was 19 inches long. Mommy and Daddy (and Nana too) were so excited to finally meet him!
Over the next few days we spent time bonding in our "closet" at the hospital until we were finally able to take you back to our home away from home. After what seemed like forever we were allowed to travel back to Ohio and start our new lives.
It's been quite the year of firsts...First time meeting all of the family and dogs, first Cavs game, holidays, plane rides (in first class) vacations, new foods, crawling, visiting over 10 states, Cubs game (even made it on TV) and now first birthday.
After supper we let him open his presents from Grammie and GrandPapa and Nana. He was more interested in the tissue paper then the actual present.
On late Friday night the troops from Illinois arrived. Connor got to spend some quality time with everyone. On Saturday we had a huge birthday and adoption celebration. We welcomed a lot of family and friends from all over. Barb and Tim were able to come in from Georgia, Aunt Faye, Uncle Syl, and Jim and Jan Irwin from Illinois and Jennifer and Reagan Irwin from Indy just to name a few. We all had a great time.We are truly blessed to have such wonderful family and friends. I am not sure what we would have done without all of your prayers and support over this past year. THANK YOU!!
