Relay for Life 2009

We had the opportunity to experience and participate in Stow's first Relay for Life last weekend. My friend Tracy made a team for Newcomers. I walked in honor and memory of our many family members and friends who have experienced cancer. Our theme was "Hopefully Devtoed to a Cure." We dressed like the Pink Ladies and had the guys dress like the T birds from Grease. It was a hit. We won for Best Theme! Me and my friend Tracy
Stow Munroe Falls Newcomers Club Relay For Life Team I couldn't sleep on Saturday morning so I made CJ's car into a Bel Aire...or it was supposed to look like one anyway... notice the flames and the fins. We even tried to slick Connor's hair back but the only thing we had to use was sunscreen.

By the time we got around to the judges Connor was asleep at the wheel. The walk itself was great. Our team raised over $1000 and had a team member walking for the entire 24 hours. A great acheivement for a team so small. The Luminary ceremony was quite impressive with luminaries lit around the entire length of the track. Here are mine for the Grandma's and Grandpa'sOverall the event was a success! Our town raised over $50,000 for the event. We are hoping they decide to do it again next year.
